This is another beautiful offering, An Original and Genuine Matching Pair of Antique English Georgian Regency Rococo Foliate Fretwork Mirror Brackets, Ideal for Use as Shelf Brackets, in Burl Walnut w/ Inlaid Boxwood Stringing & Rosewood Crossbanding, Dating to c.1820..! They are stunning brackets, see 6 pics above and 13 below. Of handcut burl walnut veneer wonderfully fretted with a foliate Rococo design and expertly inlaid with boxwood stringing and rosewood crossbanding, they were made to stand on their broad dowelled bases as supports either side of a very impressive mirror. Notwithstanding what they were made to do, they would make phenomenal shelf angle-brackets fastened to a wall, either on their long or short axis. They can be mounted so that they protrude 19 3/4" from the wall by 10 1/2" high, to suit a 24" deep shelf, or they can mounted to protrude 10 1/2" and be 19 3/4" high, to suit a 12" deep shelf. They are of unbelievable quality, and are 1 1/2" thick..! They still have their original dowels and mirror swivels attached, but I am happy to remove them if the buyer wishes. !!!FREE FULLY-INSURED SHIPPING WITHIN THE 48 STATES!!! I am happy to combine shipping wver possible, or BUYERS ARE WELCOME TO COLLECT AT NO COST This is a pair of genuine antique Georgian brackets - Be SURE to check out our other auctions!!! 'The Yorkshireman Antiques & Collectibles' always has the esoteric and unusual English items we're renowned for. The one thing we DON'T have is reproduction. EVERYTHING we sell is original and genuine, as anyone who has ever bought from us knows very well. I am English, and my wife and I go to England regularly and buy EVERY item ourselves. We do NOT buy pre-loaded containers. Every item we offer has been found by us, haggled-over and bought by us, carried, wrapped and packed in a container by us and then shipped to the US by us. We control the quality of what we buy and we know the source of EVERY item we sell. Our particular interests lie in Arts and Crafts Mission items and Art Nouveau, though we have everything imaginable, from c.1600 to the 1930s. N.B. Please be aware that ALL the items we sell are at least vintage and often truly antique. Vintage and antique items HAVE flaws, e.g. scratches, marks and wear and tear. We try to describe our items accurately, detailing the flaws we consider worthy of separate mention, but our opinion of condition remains subjective. We do not mislead and include all the information we have regarding an item's condition within the auction listing. Unfortunately, we are not experts, in anything. We are knowledgeable in certain areas, but we are not authorities in any field. Remember, one man's tarnish is another man's patina..! If an item is 80/90/100 years old, it is NOT new and will not LOOK new - but isn't that part of an antique's charm and value..?
