Pair Silver Albany Pattern ServingSpoons, Sheffield 1895/6 We have on offer a superb pair of solid silver Albany, otherwise known as Queen Anne Pattern, serving spoons. These were assayed in Sheffield in 1895/6 by Harrison Brothers & George Howson. This pair of cast spoons have wonderfully fluted bowls in the form of shells. They are excellently made and very well balancedIf you wanted to make up a service of this pattern, it is unlikely that you will ever find a better pair of serving spoons, as, despite being 117 years old, they are in pristine condition, with no wear or repairs.Total weight is 183.2 gms (5.89oz Troy). They are 22.9cms long (9 inches), with the bowls being 8.5cms long by 5.2cms wide.As these are from the era of elegance, and in keeping with the age and style, also because I do not wish to see such beautiful articles going for scrap, I am starting them at 120 guineas. Please note that these are real serving spoons, not miss-labelled table spoons, a common error, coveredin my book "Collecting Silver - Fakes, Breaks & Assay Marks"available on eBay at present.£126 p&p UK Special Delivery Next Day £6.60; Europe £12 Int Signed for; America, Africa Asia £13.80; Australasia £14.00
