Pair Turquoise Bowls 19thC Reign Mark Chinese Porcelain

This is a rare Pair of Antique Porcelain Chinese Aqua Turquoise Bowls, fine round form bowls with décor of Eight Immortals and reign mark.

Each Bowl:

-Is decorated with a continuous reserve with colorful figures- the Eight Immortals with various symbols, and two small figures astride a giant flying Phoenix bird;

-has an aqua turquoise background reserve, decorated with a surround of clouds and smoke, flowers, and heaven;

-is beautifully enameled with many colors including rose pink, sage and willow green, yellow, iron red, and blue;

-has a white glaze along the top edge of the top rim;

-has an aqua turquoise glaze on the inside;

-has a white glaze underside bottom; and the rim foot is unglazed;

-has a reign mark in red letters, in the center of the underside bottom.

The estimated date is early 20th Century, circa 1910. The reign mark resembles and is similar to the mark and seal of Ch’ien Lung, (1736-1795); this being a commemorative mark, and indicating the later date.

One bowl is 0.7 Oz. lighter than the other bowl.

The Pair of Eight Immortals Bowls are in very good condition, as noted: on the inside rim of each of the bowls there is a glaze loss in the aqua glaze, along the inside top rim 1 inch long x 1//8 inch wide. There are normal wear, firing flaws, minor crazing and fretting. (Please see all photos.) Overall, the Pair is sound, having no chips, cracks, or major defects, and having no apparent repairs or restorations.
