Pair two antique wood gesso frames convex bubble glass

Up for bid is a fabulous, matching pair of Victorian oval frames. What look like original labels are preserved on back, reading "H.P. Moore Silvertype, Concord, N.H." The openings are 8x10, with convex glass. The photos speak for themselves. Expertly colored and gilded, with an applied design of leaves and berries subtly touched in deep autumn tones of cranberry, forest green and ochre. The outer edge is a very dark blue, darker than navy. Estimated age: 75-100 years give or take. Completely original wood construction with applied gesso designs in bas-relief. The designs themselves are all perfect, with no visible flaws or damage. Both frames show a bit of aging which I have done my best to capture with flash photography. PLEASE NOTE: Each frame has a midnight-blue band around the outside. The flash creates an artificially enhanced, much brighter shade of blue that is not accurately depicted. In a dim room the blue fades into the dark brown with a minimal contrast. The visible aging is confined to the beaded inner edge, with the usual wear and degradation expected for such old items. A crack or small chip shows and t through the finish, but not in a way that detracts from the beauty, more as a statement of graceful weathering and nearly century-old patina. The finish itself is still quite superb-looking on both frames. On the whole, the outer edges are quite amazingly preserved, and the gold still bright enough to catch the light. The glass panes show no wear or scratching at all and appear as new. The frames and glass have an overall appearance of nicely-preserved and well-loved antique items.
