PLEASE LOOK AT ALL OF THE PHOTOS I'VE GIVEN! T ARE MANY OF THEM AND WILL HELP SHOW THESES BEAUTIFUL VASES TO THEIR FULLEST! Welcome to my auction! I am listing these opaline vases as Bristol but I have been told that they are possibly french or bohemian vases so I will let you, the experts, be the judges. Ground tops with smooth bases. Either way they are a HUGE pair of mantel vases with possibly the best painting decoration that I have ever seen . The vases measure 13 and 3/4 of an inch tall and around the largest part of the vase they are a large 18 inches. They depict a lovely majestic looking bird setting on a branch surrounded by leaves, berries, with a light snowfall on. Behind the bird is a mountain scene, on the ground below are rocks with snow and up above a soaring bird in flight. Although it's hard to see in my pictures the vases also have darkening clouds above...a warning sign of possibly more snow to come??? How BEAUTIFUL ARE THESE!!!!!!!!!! I have had these just a little more than a month and not one person has walked in to my home that haven't said how magnificent of a pair they are.....I kid you not! They have been proudly displayed and the pictures truely do not do them complete justice. I've given you a photo of the vases with a regular 12 ounce beverage can to show you just how big they are. Condition / Other.....No chips, cracks, or repairs. Near excellent. Varying degrees of heavy to light handpainted enamels with little to no loss what so ever of paint on the scenery. Gold painted trim on top rim and bottom base do have paint loss which is shown and almost expected with age. Again, does not effect scene. One of the vases has 2 light black scratches on the back, shown in one of my pictures, but you have to look close as they are not large. They will need a light overall cleaning as I have not touched them since they were purchased. I always leave that up to my buyers. For accuracy only as I go over my items EXTREMELY well.....on the inside neck of one of the vases t was an air bubble burst or tool mark. Very small...not damage or a chip as it is smooth to the touch and not jagged. If you need additional pictures....ask. These are truely a wonderful pair and I hope I was able to show that through the photographs. Please check out all of my auctions. It's hard to tell what you might find!!
