BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL VINTAGE BLUE MILK GLASS, sometimes called by other names, this is the same type of old colored glass that is known as jadite in the green version. The lamps are 30 inches tall to the top of the harp w the finial screws on. The base is 9 inches wide at widest point. The lamps are 26 inches tall to top of the top light bulb. T is a small bulb inside the blue milk glass bases and the original wiring works to turn on the top light, the bottom light or both on or off. Pictures show all types of lighting, including flash and no flash to show you the way the color changes in different lighting. The color in daylight with the lamp lights off would be what we call Carolina Blue (as opposed to Duke Blue which is much darker blue). The photos show the lamps with both lights off in inside lighting without a flash; in this case they appear darker blue in the photos than in normal lighting. When light the blue lightens and when the inside blub is lit with the upper light on as well, that is the lightest the blue appears -- please see photos for all examples -- however, the color in photograph 1 is the closest to normal daytime appearance that you can expect. The glass and the heavy brass/metal parts are in excellent condition. In working condition as you can see in the photos, the wiring appears to be original and tfore, should for safety purposes be replaced. The lamps come with the harps but do not have shades. The lamps are identical, except that one is very, very, slightly darker in color shade than the other which appears to be due to lighting if you notice it at all. Also the cords are white and old, but one plug is slightly different from the other one. Both have long cords. I cannot express how very amazing and unique these lamps are; I think they may have been custom made for a particular customer as these are the only blue milk glass lamps I've ever seen with the lighted bases. T is a mark on the bottom of the brass toned bases which reads as follows: Lamp1: "L&LWMC 1971" and the other base says "1971 L&LWMC". T are no chips or cracks or damage to the lamps, glass or metal parts.
Lamps will be insured and will be very, very well packaged and shipped via UPS, so the shipping charge will cover insurance and double boxing and lots of packaging materials. Insurance will be included at no additional charge. Shipping to US address: please use calculator Paypal payment due 5 days after auction closes.
