PAIRPOINT - Cherub Holders For auction are these lovely Pairpoint Cherub Holders which I found at an antique and collectibles shop. These beautiful pieces measure 6 5/8" tall, which includes the divided box each cherub is holding up with its arms. The divided boxes are each 2 1/4" inches square. Three of the sides have the same artwork (on different sides, however), while one side on each box is different. T are windmills, sail boats, farmers, a skyline, a waterfront, and people... The heavy ornate bases measure 2 7/8" in diameter. These gorgeous cherub bases show some wear to the gold finish from use; however, the patina is extremely nice on both pieces. T is a paper label on one of the bases that says, LACQUERED, Clean only with a damp cloth. We are not sure of the base metal, although is very heavy. The boxes are much thinner metal and ornately decorated. At first glance, we thought these were brass, but the more we read about Pairpoint, the more inclined we were to think they were some other kind of metal. The divided boxes could be used to hold toothpicks, lipstick, nail polish, cigarettes, matches, small office supplies, etc. An elegant addition to any room you choose. We believe the pieces to be 80 to 100 years old. The base is marked Pairpoint - 4971 and has the 'P' within a diamond. These are extremely beautiful pieces - perfect for the ends of your dining table, fireplace mantle, your dressing table, vanity, or end tables. Please e-mail with questions and thank you for looking!!! Shipping will be calculated at the close of the auction, based on the winning bidder's zip code.
