Fresh from lavish New York City Madison avenue Estate, we have a pleasure to offer you another magnificent extra large French Gilt Carved Wood Mirror . Large viewing section and stylish, non overpowering gold frame. The frame is masterfully carved, wood than coated in thin layer of gesso, which is needed to uphold the gilding. Frame is flat on the bottom, arched on the top, perfect to go over the dresser or fireplace mantle. Topped with a gorgeous floral cartouche, featuring flowers going over pierce carved rococo scroll. Gilt carvings on top corners, middle, and bottom corners, giving much more appeal to the sides. Mirror's large center viewing section is antique, hence the silvering has the desired slightly tarnished (aged) appearance, giving it much character. Piece dates to last quarter of 1800's and shows the quality of the time. Good condition, gold losses, flakes and minor chips which are usual with this type of mirrors / frames. Size is extra large 72" tall, 45" wide, and 5" deep of the wall on the top. More than just a statement piece ! If you are looking for the best, look no further, here it is !
