Top of the line #11 cue from Palmer’s FirstLine Catalog. Original owner.
Excellent condition; Weight: 19 5/8 oz. with a 13 mm screw-on tip. Length: 57 ¼ inches. Rolls straight and true. There is one hair-line crack in one of the mother-of-pearl rings (see picture) I am the original owner and purchased the cue in 1967 from the 1 st catalog. It was restored by Palmer around 1980 with new lacquer and Irish linen wrap. My name is currently in the name window. It includes a soft case.Description from the 1 st Palmer catalog: “Strictly for the player who wants nothing but the best and is willing to pay for it. Pearl accents are used freely throughout this cue to produce a startling, eye stopping effect against the beautiful African ebony wood. This deluxe model features two shafts, hand fitted nickel silver joint with pearl accents, full personalization, Irish linen wrap, and an extremely high gloss finish. Guaranteed - you have never played with, nor have you ever seen another more precise cue than this This type of work exemplifies the Palmer style of detail and contrast. This style started a trend which would soon lead to some of the most famous designs of all time. Look at the beautiful grain of the wood and check out the screw-on ferrules. The heavy brass screws made them deflect the cue more than regular shafts. The idea was for the player to be able to change the ferrule if the tip broke off, eliminating the need for additional shafts. I welcome questions. Thanks.
