Panasonic QUAD 8 track player recorder receiver RS-864S Description :This is the Panasonic QUAD 8 track player recorder receiver model RS-864S. This plays quad tapes with 4 speaker outputs. I played a quad tape and it played on all 4 speakers. The FM receiver played only on 2, which I expect to be normal because FM was broadcast on 2 channel stereo only. The dial and level meter lights work. This also has quad inputs, so can be used as a quad amp, though I did not test that aspect. I also did not test the record function. No speakers are included. Cosmetics are good, but does show some normal age and use including some nicks and chips in the wood case. The aluminum front needs to be cleaned. This weighs about 30 pounds with packaging, so shipping is via Fedex ground and is a bit pricey (can ship only to a street address..no PO box). No shipping to Alaska or Hawaii and shipping to Washington State, Oregon, and Maine may be higher.
