This is a great condition - orignal period parade mounted medal issued to all serving Prussian soldiers in 1897 commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Reign of Kaiser Wilhelm 1st of Prussia. I've had a few of these in my collection in the past 35 years but this one is the absolute nicest one I have had! It is period parade mounted and has the original ribbon - in the correct period method of Imperial German medal mounting, and has an original old brass straight pin and a hook device to hold the ring of the medal when wearing (the loose mount method of medal mounting use back then which looked so nice compared to todays court mounted methods). The backing material is a black velvet which has been very nicely - finely stitched to the ribbon and the black material has no damage or mothing to it! The medal still has high detail to the portrait of the Kasier and the wording is still nice and clear. Most of the original gilt finish has gone leaving the medal a very nice patina finish - the ribbon has no damage and although aged is in very nice condition. A great looking original period - parade mounted Kaiser Centennial Medal not one of the knock offs that can be seen floating around these days for auction. I've taken photos with and without a flash to show the medal as nice as it really looks! Shipping to the USA will be by either Canada Post Small Package Shipping (which is not trackable) at a cost of $11. or by Expedited Parcel Shipping which is trackable and insured at a cost of $18. - with a normal delivery time of 12 - 14 days.
