Tonight I'm happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Paragon, Double Warrant, 1930's, "Hyde Park" Pattern - Emerald Green - Moulded Gold and Floral Medallion, Tea Cup. MINT CONDITION! - NO RESERVE! This elegant and majestic tea cup is in excellent if not MINT condition and I suspect has rarely if ever been used, on inspection I could not even find a mark on either the cup or saucer.The cup is a round shape with a slightly scalloped and moulded gold rim, ribbed, gold detailed handle and gold detailed pedestal base. The main color of the cup is an vivid shade of rich emerald green featuring a medallion center of pastel tulips and assorted spring flowers with a surrounding detail of gold garlands, floral and scrollwork accents. The saucer mirrors the inside of the cup and all three pieces are in excellent if not MINT condition with no cracks, chips, crazing or loss to the color or design. I would safely guess that the set dates from the late 1930's. The cup is marked on the bottom with the familiar Paragon double warrant mark, Fine Bone China, England, -86890-. I'm not that familiar with English porcelains, the marks are shown and I'm sure the Paragon collectors will be able to put an exact date on the cup, if you have any information about the marks please feel free to e-mail.Paragon has always been known for fine quality porcelains and this enchanting and graceful example will not disappoint even the most discerning collector. This week I've had the good fortune to purchase a large group of exceptional tea cups featuring a wide variety of fine English makers, I'll be listing cups all this week and the better part of next week, the cups are usually listed by 10pm every evening.
