appx. 8.5x5x2" (stark) white parian porcelain Victorian portrait bust #317 (faintly impressed, back) for desk or bookshelf of Ben Johnson (on back) or Ben Jonson, 1572-1637, famous Elizabethean poet and dramatist, mounted on factory-joined socle base by J & T B (mark on back, not Boote but Bevington), Staffordshire, England, no date (1870/80) in mint condition with little or no wear, no loss, damage or restoration. A few small kiln ash black dots--not defacing. This is the famous sometime bricklayer and murderer, dramatist and author of Volpone and Drink to only with thine eyes (also look up the short elegy for one of his daughters: just perfect) In addition, wrote poetry.
