6 x 9.5`, Hotel Scribe menu for 4 Mar. 1945. Inside is autograph Ernest Hemingway and an inscription in what appears to be his hand: LiLi homage respecteur and much luck because being lonely (?) she makes people happy Papa. Also inside are inscriptions that appear to be C. Ruladary, S.(?) Andrews Jr., L. Aslanidis, and Mary Well(?). On verso is bold Gracie Fields (1898-1979). Other inscriptions are addressed to Lily, as one who seemed to be known to these celebrities. We can only speculate as to addressee (Lily Pons was a contemporary with Paris connections, for example, and `Andrews` writes `...it is always lovely to listen to you`).
