A J PARKER TZ 4/47 SIGHT FOR LEE ENFIELD NO.4 A J Parker TZ 4/47 sight for a Lee Enfield No. 4. In excellent working order and condition (for something likely over 60 years old) and with all four primary parts matching and all stamped “93”. Other markings are “Alfd. J. Parker Birm”, “Model TZ 4/47” and “AJP”. All parts look original, operate correctly and the action is tight and secure. The left hand elevation scale is from 0 to 70 minutes of arc in graduations of 5 minutes, and with a vernier scale from 1 to 5 minutes. The right hand elevation scale is from 200 yards to 1200 yards The windage scale is a total of 70 minutes of arc (+/- 35 minutes of dead centre) in graduations of 5 minutes, and with a vernier scale from 1 to 5 minutes. For both the elevation and windage adjustments, 1 5 minute = 0.5” at 100 yards. The eye piece is a very nice and fully working mechanical variable aperture made of brass and steel, that can close down to nothing. The only marking on the eye piece is a “2”. There is also a removable blackened shade on the eye piece to assist with sighting, and it is possible that a glass filter could have originally been fitted under the shade although none is present.
