Celebrating Over 12 Years on Ebay!!Parra Sterling & Amethyst Fish Pin Description: This is a super wonderful hand wrought pin by highly sought after artist, Horacio de la Parra. Parra has a long, long history in Taxco and his company, Plateria Azteca produced mostly hollowware, so finding a piece of jewelry by Parra is a real treat. Through this entity, Parra had contracts to produce hollowware for William Spratling and Hector Aguilar. In addition to working with these illustrious Taxco masters, Parra also helped to start Conquistador who was also closely aligned with the work of Spratling and Aguilar. This pin is just a masterpiece of repousse work, note the hand done accents throughout the fish's body. The eye is a bezel set amethyst and stands out from the pin giving the piece a googly-eyed demeanor. The arc of the body provides lots of action in the piece. It's just beautifully designed and artfully executed. A certain heirloom to add to your collection. The pin has a double C clasp on the back and was probably originally a safety clasp with a roller. Taxco artisans quite often used spare parts as needed and you will find these without rollers quite frequently. The double C clasp holds very securely just as you would expect of a C clasp. This piece is very early, circa 1935. Hallmarks : Mexico Sterling Parra Size : 2 1/4" read more
