A Rare Hitchcock Brass Mechanical Lamp in "as found" original condition. This lamp is run by a clock movement located in the bottom of the lamp. The clock movement runs a small fan which kept the flame burning without needing a chimney. As the clock ran down, the flame would go out. This lamp is brass and stands 12" high and 5" in diameter at the base. The lamp is marked, "THE IMPROVED HITCHCOCK LAMP". This lamp is marked with three patent dates, "Nov. 30, 1880; July 20, 1886; Dec 17, 1895." It appears to be in the original condition with just a few small bumps. The burner is not present. It is very clean inside and also is marked with patent dates inside. I have included a key for the winding. This is a very unique early piece that you surely will not want to miss for your collection! Shipping is by Priority Mail at 6 lbs.
