This auction is for a vintage no. 89 Stanley clapboard siding gauge. It is marked STANLEY and PAT. JAN. 31,88'. This was Justus Traut's patent - #377,178. This was Stanley's first offering of a clapboard holder. It has a tilting handle that acts as a clamp on the previous run of clapboards, allowing the next run to be laid. Everything appears to be in good working order. Over all it is in very good condition with very minor darken metal, mostly on the bottom. Total weight is 7.10z.
