BEAUTIFUL HANDSTITCHED BIRD & ANIMAL PRINT QUILT, GREAT FOR A FULL OR TWIN BED, VERY COLORFUL and ALL HANDWOVEN! This handmade quilt is really hard to let go--it is so beautiful and colorful, and so much time has gone into making this quilt. Someone is going to love having this quilt on his or her bed or on display! It could also be used as a throw on a couch or chair. I think the country of origin is Greece but it could also be from Mexico by Mixteca weavers who are known for their natural dyes and fantastic weaving skills--however, if you have seen the recent movie Mamma Mia, t are a few of these on the clothes line in Delphi in the outdoor scenes. I am not sure of this quilt's age, and its colors are really vibrant. The detail is amazing--the animals and birds are made from single raised threads sewn together. T are a few that have snagged over the years, but most are in great condition and those that have snags can be easily fixed by a seamstress. It's really a masterpiece. Dimensions: Approx. 60 by 80 inches, so great for a twin if you want it flowing down the sides of the bed and also great to cover a full mattress in a standard way. The picture shows this quilt displayed on a queen size, and it just covers the top of a queen mattress but not down the sides at all. Material: White cotton backing with colored cotton thread stitching--it is a thin almost sheet-like quilt but very sturdy The handstitched pattern is amazing!
