A little Patricia Breen history for you: It was in just two rooms and a bathtub that Patricia Breen Designs got their start. Patricia Breen and her husband, Eric Shaikewitz, went to Poland after college to give help and support to local businesses. They now make their home t and create these beautiful handmade glass ornaments in the old Eastern European tradition. Breen comes up with the ideas and Shaikewitz sculpts the models. The molds are limited to 2000 pieces, and many ornaments are much more exclusive than that. At the autumn (very limited!) signings, Breen introduces a few pieces exclusively designed for each "signing" store. From the very fine glitter to the detail in the painting, expressive eyes, and the embellishments, t is no escaping the fact that these ornaments are works of art. Living in Poland, the couple searched for Polish glass for their collection and to give as gifts. They found the old pieces of glass were quite beautiful, but the quality of the new glass ornaments that were being produced was poor and mass-produced.
