wonderful pure antique bronze medal of the famous engraver PAUL DUBOIS Paul-Maurice Dubois (born in Aywaille/Belgium, 1859-1938) entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1879 and studied under Jacquet and Simonis. In 1882 he started to work in Van der Stappen's studio. In 1884 he was awarded the first prize in the Concours Godecharle and received a travel grant which allowed Dubois to visit the most important museums in Europe. He exhibited at the Salons of "Les XX" from 1884 to 1893 and at the Salons of "La libre esthetique" from 1894. Dubois was selected for the position as professor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1902.
