PAUL EVANSAmerican, 1931-1987Wavy front wall cabinet. Signed and dated on lower edge of right hand door Paul Evans 1970". Steel doors with patinated and gilded "wavy front design". The case covered in riveted metal patchwork. Natural black slate top.Provenance: Purchased from Paul Evans, New Hope, PA by the current consignor.Private Collection, Eastham, MA.Case height 15", length 48", and depth 16".ConditionOverall good condition. The back still has plaster residue from being removed from a wall. Mounting to wall is via predrilled holes on the back. Small amount of molding missing off the top back. The catalog shot shows the piece with the slate top, which is present, but not currently exhibited with it on it as it is quite heavy. There is also a yellow-felt wrapped board that is with the piece but not displayed with it inside currently.
