Up for bids is this antique c. 1840 TROY pattern by Charles Meigh flow blue vegetable serving dish and side dish. The side dish has a slightly scalloped edge and measures 6 1/4" in diameter. The outer border is printed with reverse scallops that terminate in diamond pendants with trefoils. Placed around the rim are six large flowers with buds, leaves and stems. The well is designed by a Gothic design of diamond pendants and trefoils on a scalloped base. The center scene is Eurpean and portrays Gothic ruins with tall trees at the left. In the far distance there are a castle and a church. At the right mid-center there is a bridge which crosses to an island. In the foreground are three figures, a man, a woman, and a child in Victorian costume. They are standing on a bank, and the man is pointing to the island. The TROY pattern vegetable dish is 9 3/4" wide x 7 1/2" x 2 1/4" high. Condition is very good on both. The side dish has no chips, cracks or repairs and no discoloration. The vegetable dish has age discoloration in the center, some wear to the glaze on the top rim and a very tight short hairline crack on the rim.
