5 pc Bronze Desk Set, Ink Well, K&O c1910 SUPERB! Fresh from an Estate Sale on the North Shore of Long Island, this came from an 19th Century home on the North Shore of Long Island. We will be listing more items from this wonderful old home. Up for your consideration is a Extremely well done, superbly cast bronze 5 pc desk set, very sharp details. Bronze Desk Set with Dore Bronze highlights, with Feather Quill motiff, also all the peices were made to resemble the end pages of a book, or pages of books. Dore Bronze highlighting on the feathers as well as the sides. Pictures just do not do this set much justice, I have taken quite a few photos so you can try to apperciate how beautiful this set really is. The Kronheim and Oldenbusch Metal Novelty Company, or simply known as K&O of New York manufactured bookends, figurines and novelty items from 1895 to 1940. Quality at its best, K&O rivaled some of the most prolific companies of the period. This 5 piece set consists of: Ink well and pen holder, the ink well has a green glass insert, letter holder, blotter which has brass sheeting at bottom, calendar with rotating months, and a letter opener. All the peices except the blotter are adorned with the Feather Quill motiff, absoluitely stunning set. Sharp and intricately detailed. Please check out the photos for greater details. Set is in excellent Vintage Condition, no breaks, dents, dings, some spotting from age on the letter holder. Peices all have a nice aged patina. Measurements: INK WELL & PEN HOLDER - 6 x 4 and 4 1/4 inches tall to top of finial on ink well; LETTER HOLDER - 3 1/2 inches tall, opening 1 1/2 inches wide, the feather tips extend 3/4 inches past the body of holder bringing the overall length 10 5 3/4 inches, (without feather tips length 4 1/4 inches; BLOTTER - 4 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, 3 1/4 inches tall to top of finial; CALENDAR - 5 inches long, 2 1/2 inches deep, 2 1/4 inches tall to tip of extending feather, w/o feather 1 7/8 inches tall. rotating dial at bottom changes the month which reads the month and the ending date for each month (example Jan 31, Feb 28 and so on) with brass/bronze front face plate with days of week; LETTER OPENER - in the shape of a Feather quill 7 1/2 inches long, 3/4 inches wide at its widest point, the feather end is about 1/4 inches thick, very sturdy.
