Welcome to my auction! I was lucky enough to purchase a private collection of Carnival Glass. I have over 200 items I will be listing in the next few weeks. This auction is for an Amethyst Carnival Glass Water Set. This is the "Peacock at the Fountain" pattern made by the Northwood Glass Company in the early 1900's. It is marked with the Northwood N in a circle. You can reference this pattern in the Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass, 9th Edition on page 190. What a beautiful Set! The Pitcher is almost 8 1/2" tall and each Tumbler is 4" tall. The Pitcher has excellent color, I would almost call it electric. It is winter weather again, but I took this outside briefly for a few pictures, so it's a mix on the pictures, some inside and some out. I've checked this very carefully. Two of the Tumblers aren't quite as vibrant as the rest. The brightest Tumbler has a chip on the base. No damage to the beading on any pieces. One has two tool marks straight across from each other on the rim. No inner rim roughness. A couple have a small amount of wear inside. The Pitcher has a pinpoint spot on the rim that is white, I assume it's soda ash from manufacturing. This is beautiful and in excellent condition. Except for the one Tumbler with a chip t are N o other chips, cracks or repairs. Check out my other items ! Payment is expected within 10 days, or item will be re-listed.
