First Edition, John Day Co, March 1931. Stated 22nd printing, April 1932. No dust jacket.Presented by Milton & Rose Friedman to Shoenberg Library at National Jewish Hospital, Denver, March 1949 (please see all photos.) Friedman regarded The Good Earth as an important work and often quoted from it in speeches. I've researched both Friedman signatures (there are many examples available online) and due to the "F" being drawn more consistently with Mrs. Friedman's, it seems likely that she dedicated the book that day.Binding is tight with a slight lean. Light foxing to boards, moderate scuffing/shelf wear to board edges. Two library stamps near back of book and some scuffing/paste residue to back of half title page. All other pages are unmarked, though somewhat toned with age. Solid overall and a unique copy of a great Pulitzer winner.*******Emerson Street Editions offers p opular, antiquarian, and eclectic editions across all genres, many signed.
