For your consideration is a limited edition Pelikan Toledo fountain pen in .925 silver. The nib size is "F". I am the original owner of this piece, and purchased it new in 1994. This particular Toledo is the silver edition, limited to 1000 pieces world-wide. When the pen was released, it came with a wooden box which, when opened, revealed a small lap desk, a storage compartment for stationery, stamps, and other writer's tools, as well as a tray with room for three pens. T was also a compartment containing a bottle of Pelikan ink. All of this is included in the auction. The craftsmanship and attention to detail to the pen makes it a work of art in it's own right. To quote the certificate included with the pen: "For centuries the goldsmiths of Todedo in Spain have been world famous for their art. Taking the methods of the jewellers of Toledo as their model. Pelikan's master craftsmen adorn the barrel of each Pelikan Toledo, individually and by hand, with a finely-engraved design of high artistry incised into a sleeve of solid 925 sterling silver with rhodium decoration. "Personally signed and individually numbered by the master craftsman who created it, the Pelikan Toledo is an expression of the highest degree of exclusiveness, since each one is unique in the world. "It takes over 100 manufacturing steps and more than a month's work to create each Toledo. The hand-crafted barrel, the finely-chased 18-carat two-tone gold nib, the luxuriously modelled clip in the shape of a pelican's beak, and the loving attention that has gone into so many details make the Pelikan Toledo a treasure of timeless beauty. This pen is a beauty!!! It has been used, but never abused: it has been well taken care of. T are some light scratches on the clip and also on the silver on the base of the barrel. T is no problem at all with the nib; it writes very nicely!!! I've never liked using a clunky, heavy pen, but this one feels very comfortable in my hand. The carvings are outrageous!! T is only a few minor rubs on the exterior of the box, and I have photographed the ding on the inside of the finger lift inside of the box. At one time, t had been a plate with the Pelikan logo on it on the box lid, but this is missing. I thought I still had it, but so far my search has come up empty. The ink bottle still retains most of it's original supply, and t is no damage to either its label, cap or glass. Auction terms are simple: payment is due within 10 days after the end of the auction. The shipping will be $10 with delivery confirmation. I accept Paypal or a money order from a US bank or post office, or a certified check. Foreign bidders, please wait until I check with shipping charges to your destination should you win, and you must pay with your PayPal account in US dollars!!!!! Please ask any questions prior to placing a bid. Thank you for looking : )
