Pennsylvania Artist Robert Bohne Oil Painting in Antique Aesthetic Wood Frame Description : Born in Chester, Pennsylvania in 1953, Robert Bohne' now resides in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania. Robert studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Fleischer Art Memorial and is the recipient of a Grumbacher award, several DCCC purchase prizes, and was awarded top honors for the best still life in the 2006 Philadelphia Sketch Club Annual Small Oils show, Second Place in the Plastic Club Air show, Honorable Mention in the Multimedia Show, and the Dorothy Invernizzi Guinn Memorial Prize in the Plastic Club Members' Medal Show. His works are in number of public and private collections, including the Delaware County Community College collection, MBNA and DuPont. He is best known for his intimate still life paintings and his landscapes of the Delaware Valley area including New Jersey. Robert also runs "Landscape Painting Philadelphia" and the "Philadelphia Art Meetup Group". Two groups that he operates free of charge for those who are interested in drawing, painting and the fine arts. He also monitors a Thursday workshop at the Phila. Sketch Club, the oldest artists club in the United States, and is a volunteer at Sunshine Arts. A non-profit organization that provides art lessons and materials for children in Upper Darby, Pa. Bohne' is listed on ArtFact, Artnet, ArtPrice, MutualArt and Live Auctioneer.Wonderful old frame. Similar to Eastlake in design. Black painted wood alternating with walnut or mahogany with a gold painted inner layer. Looks like Bohne commonly uses older frames. He made have planned this painting for this frame with it's odd board size. Still life of books and a pewter stein.Date : Painting is 2011. Frame is 19th C.Condition : Some scratches and nicks in frame. Few light scratches on painting.Measurements : Painting is 9-3/4" x 7-3/4".
