VINTAGE PARKER PENOL NO. 8K MADE IN DENMARK VINTAGE PARKER PENOL NO. 8K MADE IN DENMARK Brand Penol Notes. Model/Number no. K8 Needs a new bladder. Gold trims very fine. Original gold 14k nib. Imprint on barrel: PENOL No. 8K PAT. APPLIED. Clear imprint, hard to capture. Manufacturer Chr.Olsen (Penol) Denmark Period Est. 1938. System squeeze Length Capped 13.65 cm Colour black/green/silver Nib 14k fine condition org. Material celloid In 1937 Penol introduced the Aëro Filler mechanism in a pen with a two-material barrel construction. The pen has a transparent ink-view window (shown in the scan) about 1 cm long and the remainder of the barrel is opaque. The section is black, but the part that goes inside the ink-view window - to which the sack is attached - is transparent. This gives the pen the look of a piston filler with an ink-view window. It is an ingenious way to use a rubber sac and a button filler mechanism while making it possible to check the ink supply. (from PWI article on Penol pens). Penol held a patent for this special mechanism. This FP is a large button filler, black green and silver celluloid; no discoloration; 10-sided facets with nicely done morphing into the round ends of the pen.
