This auction is for a Pere Marquette Railroad lantern It is an Adlake Reliable lantern with a wooden bale and pinch type oil pot. It measures 14 in. to the top of the bale. The top is round and has no dents. The bottom has several edge dents which has caused it to be out of round. It sill holds the pinch pot securely. T is heavy surface rust on top and bottom. I have lightly cleaned the lantern but left any restoration for the winning bidder. This lantern has 5 3/8 in clear cast Corning globe with raised letters " CNY" near the top and "Pere Marquette" in a rectangular panel. The globe is in excellent condition with several small chips in the top and bottom edges, but NO Cracks. The pinch pot has one strap that has come unsoldered and could be repaired easily. The wooden handle has several horizontal cracks in the center top, but is solid and not broken or repaired.. The top reads " ADAMS & WESTLAKE CO "ADLAKE RELIABLE" NEW YORK CHICAGO PHIL."
