This fantastic crystal Candlewick covered marmalade jar and spoon is by Imperial Glass, and it's in fantastic condition! Imperial started making the Candlewick pattern in 1936, and it's undoubtedly the most popular and collectible glassware pattern ever made! This covered marmalade jar is perfect - it appears to have been packed away for the last 70 years and never used! T are no chips, cracks, flakes, or fleabites anyw, and the glass is nice and shiny bright with no stains, scratches, utensil marks, or other marks of any kind. The lid has a two-bead knob and an inner rim that fits down inside of the jar. It's guaranteed to be genuine - not reproduction or new glass! It stands 4 ¾ inches tall with the lid in place and measures 3 ½ inches in diameter across the bottom of the beaded lid. The spoon has three beads and measures 4 7/8 inches long. It fits perfectly into the cutout in the lid. The only thing that I can find to mention is a tiny rough spot around the cutout for the spoon - it's on the back edge on the bottom side of the lid, and it's the kind of roughness that often occurs during the cutting process. It's not likely to be noticed, but it could be smoothed out a bit if desired - I prefer to leave that to the new owner! The entire Candlewick pattern can be seen in Gene Florence's "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era", but he shows no photo of this particular marmalade. It's photographed in Coe's "Elegant Glassware - Early, Depression & Beyond", w it's listed for $75.00 (that includes an underplate, which is easily obtainable but not priced individually). This jar, particularly in this condition, would be a wonderful addition to any table or Candlewick collection! The lucky winner will pay shipping and insurance. Money orders, personal checks, and PayPal are accepted! Marmalade jar and spoon will be shipped immediately upon receipt of money order or PayPal notification, or upon check clearance. Please feel free to e-mail with any other questions or requests for additional photos, and thanks very much for looking!!
