Up for sale is an absolutely perfect vintage crystal punch bowl underplate in the “ Cape Cod ” pattern by Imperial Glass! Imperial started making the Cape Cod pattern in 1932, and it’s one of their most collectible patterns. The diamond points and shapes in the glass really catch and reflect the light beautifully! This large punch bowl underplate is a beauty, and it can certainly be used for other things! I actually have the punch bowl and the cups for sale also in other auctions, but the pieces will have to be shipped individually, so I’ve listed them separately. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, fleabites, nicks or roughness anywhere, and the glass is nice and shiny bright – no stains, utensil scratches, or other marks. It measures 14 inches in diameter, and the edge is cupped upwards to hold the cups securely around the outside of the bowl. It sits on a polished ground rim, and it’s absolutely guaranteed to be genuine – not reproduction or new glass. Photos of the Cape Cod pattern can be found in Gene Florence’s “Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era” or in Coe’s “Elegant Glass – Early, Depression & Beyond”.
