Marquetry is the art, in which so many different materials are used, that sometimes exceeds even more than forty. Fixing the different patterns and designs on wood, such as triangular designs, is done with special care, expertise and skill ness of artisan, by suing various kinds of wood, bone, shell, brass and copper wires. The Marquetry, with these special features, can be exclusively attributed to Iran. This art-craft has a long history in Iran, which goes back to sixteenth century (11th century Hijri).
