The HOBO Nickel is a sculptural art form involving creative modifications of five cent coins. However, the term Hobo "Nickel" is generic, as carvings have been made from many different denominations.Due to its low cost and portability, this medium was particularly popular among Hobo's; hence the first part of the name. This 1927 Buffalo Nickel is a rendering of a Persian Kitty: Lily. We used to have one that was so pretty but she had to find a new home because it wasn't fair for her not to have all the attention she deserved. So, here's to remembering Lily, our Persian. --- ! --- ! --- ! ---I've used a camera with good resolution on the photos so you can get a better look at the details! All carvings are signed with a 'D' and a Latte Stone in addition to the year: The initial representing first letter of the artists first name. The Latte Stone pays homage to his Chamorro ethnicity.
