PERSONAL MEMOIRS OF P.H. SHERIDAN COMPLETE, 1891. "TWO VOLUMES IN ONE" Written by General P.H. Sheridan. Published by Charles L. Webster & Company, New York. Original copyright: 1888. All pages, frontispiece and tissue guard are present and attached: 986 pages with illustrations, maps, and an index at the end of Volume II. Approximate Dimensions of each volume: 6.25" x 9.25" x 3" Condition Description: terracotta or reddish brown cloth hardcover book with black embossed lettering and a vignette of General Sheridan on the front cover. Spine strong and firm, is rubbed at the head and the base, and has gilt lettering and two bands. Usual floral pastedowns in the front and rear. Corners are rubbed and some are slightly worn. Edges of pages are browned. No writing can be found during a quick scan of the book. The book does have a slight musty smell as expected of antiquarian books but it is not overwhelming and does not detract from the overall exceptional condition of the book. Volume I: 500 pages; eight illustrations, some steel engraved portraits, along with nine maps. Volume II: 486 pages; eight illustrations, some steel engraved portraits, along with seven maps.
