Old Estate Art Pottery Wall Pocket Peters and Reed? This wall pocket came from an extremely well-appointed family estate auction held in the Midwest. Owners loved their Art Pottery and this piece is from their collection. I am far from being an art pottery expert, but it looks to be Peters and Reed, but I am not certain of its attribution, as t is no marking or stamp. The condition is extremely good. T is one tiny bruise on the backside of the wall pocket near the hole which I have photographed. T is also one tiny chip to the front side panel of the pocket, but it is old and has worn smooth with age. T are no other marks or chips or cracks that I can detect, however, perhaps using a loupe, t might be another. The interior of the piece is glazed a lovely golden mocha brown. T is slight crazing to the interior. The exterior colours are brown with reddish tones and green accents. I am hoping someone with greater knowledge than me will recognize this piece, either by form, style, or embossed decoration. Approx Measurements 9"H by 6"W by 3 1/2D Weight 2lbs 9oz I just think this is an exceptional piece of Art Pottery. Love the tapered Mission form, simple clean lines, and the embossed figure on the front. Know the owners really took great pride in caring for all their art pottery and this wall pocket is no exception. Think it's a lovely and functional piece. If you are a collector of wall pockets, Peters and Reed, or just looking for a piece to add to your current decor, this wall pocket would make an exemplary addition.
