I saved the best for last. This is the final offering from my private collection of standard glaze sprigged vases made by Peters and Reed of Zanesville, Ohio. This exceptional piece has been a sentimental favorite of mine for over two decades. It is my most prized Peters and Reed sprigged vase so you will not want to miss out on this special opportunity. The form is an intriguing juxtaposition of intricacy and minimalism. It has a bulbous lower portion which narrows and then flares into a bulbous rim which narrows again to a neatly rolled rim. T are four impressed swirl designs on the body of the vase flowing up to eight impressed swirl designs below the rim. The variegated standard glaze is quite simply marvelous with gradations of golden brown, dark brown and green. T are vivid sprigged details on two sides. The vase is very weighty and in near mint condition, clean inside and out with no chips or cracks. I have provided numerous photos. Please note reflections appear which are from the lighting, not a part of the pottery. T are a few thin rub marks (see the close up photos). These minor age signs do not detract from the condition of the piece. In my opinion t is nothing that diminishes the amazing appeal of this vintage beauty. Summing it all up the condition is wonderful, the shape is remarkable, the detail is splendid, the variegated standard glaze is gorgeous and the sprig details are crisp. This much loved vase calls out for attention and belongs with an avid collector who will value and appreciate it as much as I have. It will be a notable addition to any art pottery collection. Along with being prominent amidst an assemblage of Peters and Reed it will look fabulous with other standard glaze pieces such as Weller Louwelsa, Roseville Rozane, Zanesville Art Pottery La Moro, Owens Pottery Company and Rookwood to name a few. Email me with any questions. 7 1/4" high 6" at widest 2" diameter at rim 3 7/8 diameter at base Unmarked Impressed number 17
