Peters and Reed Wilse Blue / Cobalt Blue Brown and Green Yellow Spongeware Speckled Vase - Shape is as shown in the Sanford 's Guide to Peters and Reed Pottery - measures a nice LARGE 13 1/2 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches wide. Very nice and no cracks or hairlines but does have some base edge glaze flakes at the bottom and one small glaze flake at the top rim, please see the photos. Very nice and still very much usable and a beautiful vase! Please see the photo - nice old and large heavy stoneware pottery vase!! YOU DO NOT FIND THESE HUGE FORMS VERY OFTEN!!! Dates to 1920. Unmarked but 100% Peter and Reed. As described i n the book Wilse Blue is a delightful shade of the old Chinese Powder Blue profusely sprinkled with minute black specks and finished with a clear glaze. Red clay body. This one has the sponge ware glaze over the wilse blue!
