Custom Petites Choses Blackamoor Watermelon Man Another timeless and whimsical blackamoor figure from the Petites Choses Collection . The watermelon man, a custom designed piece made specifically for Charles Faudree Interior Design. This is a vintage piece NOT new out of a box. These were produced in the early 1980s. This special piece is highly detailed, hand painted and is mounted on a circular brass base. It features the familiar chain rope detail, holding a leafy basket tray full of sliced watermelon with whole melons in the basket chained to his back. This is the small watermelon man and measures 3" wide x 5" high x 4" deep This blackamoor is one from a large private collection of blackamoor figures I will be putting up for auction over the next few weeks.
