Pair of pewter steins with dragon design over glass. The shows air bubbles, glass is not removable.
They are 4 1/2" tall with a 3 1/2" in diameter rim. The dragon's body wraps around the entire stein and has been cut out so that you can see the glass beneath it. These are in great used shape. Other than needing a good polish, the only damage I could see is the rough edge shown in the second picture which also shows the maker stamps on the bottom of the tankard . They are stamped on the bottom "Lonkee Swatow" "Made in China". These were purchased from an Estate sale and I do not know the age of the two tankards.
Lonkee is most likely the company that manufactured the item. Swatow refers to the Chinese city w it was manufactured. Swatow is also known as Shantou Swatow is a chinese port city on the coast of the China Sea. A course porcelain widely known as "swatow ware" was manufactured t and shipped all over the world in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is still a manufacturing center and is known for metal castings and metal work in addition to ceramics ware.
