Up for auction I have an awesome Pewter Whiskey/ Wine Barrel Cask and 6 Tankard Style Shot Glasses. This barrel can be used for anything from whiskey, schnapps, wine or whatever your favorite drink is. This set is in gently used condition. T are some minor surface markings that came from age and normal use. They do not take away from the beauty, function or appearance of this magnificent item. This item would be a very unique and appreciated gift for that hard to get person in your life.

DESCRIPTION:

This is a rare and very functional item. The decanter/cask is designed into a barrel. Fill the decanter from the top, then turn the lever on the spout in the front to dispense your beverage of choice. A long with the barrel are 6 matching pewter tankard style shot glasses and wood stand.

The face and back of the barrel feature a spectacular scene and verse called Heidelberg.

The center scene shows a man and lady in medieval era clothing. The lady is sitting on the gentlemans knee. He is holding his goblet up high and she is holding a pitcher. T is a small scruffy dog laying on the floor. An old castle is nestled in the hills way off in the background. Gorgeous grape clusters are hanging from the vines growing around the gazebo like setting.

The lettering is on the outer rim and it says:

"WER NICHT LIEBT WEIN WEIB UND GESANG BLEIBT EIN NARR SEIN LEBEN LANG"

The top of the barrel has an opening w you can fill and rinse the barrel. The original pewter stopper is included.

You will also receive the original wooden stand so you may proudly display the barrel and glasses. T are 6 pegs on the stand to conveniently hang the tankard style shot glasses.

On the under side of the barrel, t is a small pressure point ding and some minor stains.

This item is sure to please and quite possibly be the centerpiece of any collection.

The manufacturer marking on the back of the barrel says: FRIELING ZINN GERMANY. T is an icon of a crowned rosebud surrounded by a circle.

The manufracturer marking on the bottom of the tankard style shot glasses says: FRIELING ZINN 95% GERMANY. T is an icon of a crowned rosebud surrounded by a circle.
