BIOGRAPHY: Peyton Rous (1879-1970). Noted American scientist / pathologist who won the 1966 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work on Physiology. In 1910, he discovered the first known tumor-causing virus. He is consider the founder of the academic discipline of tumor biology. He is the father-in-law of Professor Dr. Alan Hodgkin.
