Pfaltzgraff Pottery began in the 1800's in York City, Pa. It was founded by the Pfaltzgraff family who were well crafted potters. The first factory was built in 1895. The business continued to grow and in 1960 Pfaltzgraff opened their first retail store under the name of Pottery Hill. During the 50's-60's, their products sold mostly in specialty stores. (Some Pfaltgraff bottoms were marked with Pfaltzgraff and Insigna, USA and numbered, others-because of size-were not). In 1970, the business made the decision to sell in higher-end department stores. The Pfaltzgraff Co. joined the family of Lifetime Brands in 2005.Listed from a recent Estate Sale is a Large Laddle.
