Please Caddy For A Cure This auction is for the opportunity to caddy for 3-time Major winner, Ernie Els, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The Arnold Palmer Invitational will be held at the historic Bay Hill Country Club in Orlando, FL from March 21st thru March 27th, 2011. The caddy date is for Wednesday, March 23rd. Ernie Els is one of the most successful golfers in the history of the game, having won almost 60 professional tournaments, including two U.S. Opens and an Open Championship, and a record seven World Match Play titles.He was nicknamed “Big Easy” because of his height, his easygoing manner on and off the course, and his powerful yet fluid golf swing. While his easy-going nature masks a fierce competitive drive, it is all of these qualities, along with an engaging on-course persona, that have helped make Ernie one of the most popular golfers in the game today. Despite early interests in rugby, cricket, tennis and golf, by the age of 14 Els interests turned predominantly to golf. He won the Junior World Championship golf tournament in San Diego, CA that year, beating Phil Mickelson by several strokes. Ernie turned pro in 1989 and won the “Big Three” tournaments on the South African Tour that same year: Ernie has won three majors with numerous close calls. In addition to his wins, Els has earned the European Tour Order of Merit Title two times and is the leading career money winner on the European Tour.Els has held the #1 spot in the Official World Golf Rankings during his career and has now occupied a spot in the top-10 for 780 consecutive weeks, more than any other golfer since the current ranking system came into operation in the mid-1980s. Your day will start when the celebrity arrives to warm up on the putting green and driving range. You will meet your player, his Tour caddy and a Caddy For A Cure representative at the designated meeting point (usually the putting green), and off you go. You will watch him or her hit balls, warming up as they usually do, preparing to compete against some of the best and most recognized players in the world.Off to the first tee you will go carrying the bag in front of the many PGA TOUR golf fans who wish they were in your place! The Caddy For A Cure program founder and former PGA TOUR caddy will be there to guide you, to show you the ropes, and to let you know what to do and where to stand.
