Special Update: The last of my Russian Phenakite is now listed. We are unable to obtain more at this time. Specifics These 6 pieces of Phenakite together weigh 2.8 grams. These pieces are all quite petite free form and difficult to measure precisely. Some of the larger pieces measure about 12 x 11 x 9 mm and 18 x 6 x 5 mm. The two pieces highlighted in the second picture are quite small but fascinating. The green crystal is roughly 4 mm all around and the clear piece is about 12 x 7 x 4 mm. Photo Details - The camera was set to the digital macro mode to give you an enlarged close up perspective. The photo was taken under bright sunlight to give you the best possible idea of the matierial's natural colour. The pieces were photographed dry. Background This Phenakite (Phenacite) is from the North Ural Mountains in Russia. Phenakite is a rare beryllium mineral, Be2SiO4, Beryllium silicate. This Phenakite has Muscovite and Seraphenite attached to some of it. It comes from an old Emerald mine and may include a small amount of Terminated "Micro" Emerald Crystals, though frankly I have not checked. I understand that th is mine is now closed and the continued availability of this type of Phenakite is limited.
