EXTREMELY COLLECTIBLE PHILCO PREDICTA HOLIDAY BLONDE MODEL AS SEEN ON THE SET OF THE NETWORK "BONNIE HUNT SHOW" AND MANY MOVIES AND COMMERCIALS. THE SET ALSO FEATURES THE RARE VHF BUILT-IN ANTENNA. The PHILCO PREDICTA HOLIDAY MODEL was introduced just before the holidays in 1958. Featuring a slim-line 21" picture tube that would pivot almost 180 degrees, the set was an instant hit. This model-restored-is rare and valuable. This beautiful set has been electrically and cosmetically enhanced with work done by pros with much experience.The picture tube test like new and produces a bright picture with excellent contrast and focus. The paper capacitors and out-of-tolerance resistors have been replaced with new (that are better than the original). All of the critical capacitors, including the electrolytics, have been replaced. Any out of tolerance resistors were replaced with new, flameproof types. The 3" x 10" speaker delivers excellent sound. This set was from a very clean home. We just improved it. Most of the tubes are either new (name brands) or test like new. All the preventative maintenance has been done, such as applying several coats of insulating materials to the high voltage transformer. And,alignment with instruments (see picture) assures optimum reception. The set is shown playing on a local antenna and a DVD. Many enjoy playing these sets on vintage programming from DVD's or VCR's. The set will perform flawlessly also on cable or satellite (no worry about this set being obsolete, ever). It works great with the new digital converter. We supply a cable adaptor for watching shows from any of these sources.Reception-wise, as you can see this Predicta is like new;see the bright picture the set delivers even directly under bright lights. The brightness,contrast, resolution, and focus this set delivers will impress you-the photos do not do it justice. More on the cosmetics. The pictures tell the story. The cabinet is excellent. Professional brass plating has been done on the picture tube's swivel base base and the trim plate at the lower part of the swivel base. The legs forming the support stand have also been replated. The picture tube's lens cover has been cleaned and shined;t are no flaws. Even the trim plate at the base of the picture tube has been freshly replated. For further detailing, the 5 screws at the rear of the picture tube cover are new and brass plated! The brass plating we have done is expensive and time-consuming. The work is done by a home-owned Dallas company that has been in business for more than 50 years. Their work is great and included with our Predictas is one of the distinguishing factors about our sets. In essence, you get these improvements at my cost.The final step in the brass-replating process is clear coating. As a result, you will never have to polish.The beige plastic rear cover of the picture tube has been cleaned and waxed. A lot of effort went into all the improvements. Starting with cleaning, the process was done from the "frame up". You'll enjoy both displaying and using this set for years to come.Many of you have bid on our previous sets. This pretty blonde Holiday Predicta is both RARE and in good condition. For more than 3 years, we have been the number one seller of restored Predictas on ebay.
