PHILCO PREDICTA HOLIDAY BLONDE -21" MODEL RESTORED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM-BRIGHT PICTURE TUBE! The PHILCO PREDICTA HOLIDAY MODEL was introduced in late 1958, just in time for the holidays. Featuring a slim-line 21" picture tube that would pivot almost 180 degrees, the set was very popular. This set would make a great gift. This beautiful set has been electrically and cosmetically enhanced with work done by pros with much experience. The picture tube is better and brighter than the original. It has been replaced with a superbrite model . The paper capacitors and out-of-tolerance resistors have been replaced with new (that are better than the original). All of the critical capacitors, including the electrolytics, have been replaced. The chassis has been steam cleaned;t is no dust. Preventative maintenance has been done to the high voltage transformer-layers of high voltage insulation have been added to insure its long life. Most of the tubes are either new (name brands) or test like new. You'll also note the picture of the set being aligned with instruments (no guesswork). The set is shown playing on its built-in antenna, a DVD and a VCR. We supply a cable adaptor for watching shows from an outside antenna, dvd, vcr, cable, or satellite ( no worry about this set being obsolete, ever). Reception-wise, as you can see- this Predicta is like new; see the bright picture the set delivers even directly under bright lights! It's also rare to find one of these to begin with-much less with a built-in antenna AND the "legs" that support the set! More on the cosmetics: The pictures tell the story. The cabinet is 95% original and is in excellent condition. Professional brass plating has been done on the picture tube's swivel base and the ornamental brass "arms" The picture tube's lens cover is clear. Even the trim plate at the base of the picture tube has been freshly replated, as well as the end-caps located on the support arms.The 'legs' that form a supporting stand have been brass plated. Even the 5 screws at the rear of the picture tube base are new and are plated. The brass plating we have done is expensive and time-consuming. The work is done by a home-owned Dallas company that has been in business for more than 50 years. Their work included with our Predictas is one of the distinguishing factors about our sets. In essence, you get these improvements at my cost. The final step in the process is clear coating. As a result, you will never have to polish ! The beige plastic rear cover of the picture tube has been cleaned and waxed. A lot of effort went into the improvements-the cosmetics were all done from the frame up!.The knobs are excellent, complete, and original. Given the overall condition of this set, you'll enjoy both displaying (and using) this set for years to come! Many of you have bid on our previous sets; this pretty blonde Predicta is both RARE and in excellent condition.
