Up for auction is a Neat Old Philco Radio in a Wood Cabinet. The radio is a model 48-482 which means it would have been manufactured in 1948. In addition to AM and the new frequency of FM this model played Short Wave which I'm sure was very popular after the end of WWII. This a large heavy radio that measures 12 inches tall by 20 inches wide by 13 inches deep. The radio seemed to play very well and I was able to pick up quite a number of foreign stations in the Short Wave Mode. The radio still has the original speaker cloth that is in excellent condition. The radio also still has the original finish with the "PHILCO" decal bottom center and "VOLUME", "BASS", "DIAL TUNING", AND "TREBLE" decals intact and in excellent condition above their respective knobs. Very neat old radio!
