Philippe Halsman [Latvian-born American Photographer, 1906-1979] 10" x 2 3/8" Original negative strip with 4 images of a cute young girl playing with an Alexander Calder Mobile, probably at the Museum of Modern Art in N.Y. They were difficult to photograph and are much sharper than my scans. These negatives were purchased from Yvonne Halsman the wife of Philippe Halsman about 25 years ago after his death. The buyer was told that these negatives were never published. We purchased them from him.Someone with the ability to print and market them, may profit handsomely. We have 251 negatives, all of children playing with the mobile and if this one does well on eBay, we will list others.PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE AUCTION ENDS. EBAY WON'T ALLOW US TO ANSWER LATER. YvonneHalsman , Philippe's wife, was born in France and assisted herhusband throughout his career. Philippe Halsman was born on May 2 1906 in Riga, Latvia to Max Halsman, a dentist, and Ita Grintuch, a principal of a grammar school. At the age of fifteen, young Philippe came across his father's discarded view camera, immediately sparking his imagination. He began photographing his family and quickly discovered his passion and talent, in portrait Photography.
