Official Louisville Slugger M-140 Autographed by Phillies Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn.- The bat in this sale is from my private collection. Whitey signed a dozen of these bats for my business back in 1995, after his HOF induction. The bat comes with a signed letter from Richie stating it was the same M-140 model he used to win both the 1955 & 1958 N.L. batting titles. There are very few official Ashburn bats, and probably no others with a letter from Whitey himself. ** This is NOT a store model or show bat, but an official Ashburn model. In 1991 I started a campaign " Richie Ashburn..why the hall not?" to get Whitey back on the HOF ballot. My campaign gained the support of nearly 200,000 baseball fans around the world, and saw Whitey's induction in 1995 with Mike Schmidt. The story of my campaign can be found in my book "Richie Ashburn..Why The Hall Not?". The winning buyer will receive a personally signed copy of my book as a bonus!!
